If I told you that I’ve never decorated with pink before, I’m sure you wouldn’t believe me. But seriously, I really haven’t! I always, always do yellow for Spring, and for some reason this year, I was just feeling the pink. Over time you’ll see that we have a lot of neutrals in our home – whites, beiges, and salvaged wood. In the beginning, when I was buying all of the major items, I chose things that I thought would be versatile for every season. Going from Christmas, to Valentine’s Day, to Easter, to Summer, to Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and back to Winter again can be overwhelming, and quite frankly, expensive, if you’re not strategic about it.
Switching up the pillow cases, the colors of jars, a couple coffee table books, and a few new mugs from Target, just to name a few, can make a HUGE difference, and give you that fresh, new look, every 2-3 months or so. All of the major bones stay in place – the neutral sectional, the baskets, the candle holders, the trays (although, I have quite a collection now to chose from), all of the succulents, and most greenery. So you’re left to just switch out the “fun” stuff. It ends up looking like you completely redecorated, but you got the biggest bang for your buck, and you get to enjoy a “new” space.
So unlike this bright, pink dress, all of the pink tones in our home are more in the blush family. So soft, and almost, almost a neutral. I always stayed away from pink in the family room because I thought it was too girly, but I’ve completely changed my mind on that now. I’m loving all the PINK.
